Shipping guide
Sellers handle shipping, RKN handles labels
On RKN, the seller is responsible for packing and shipping the item. We integrate with USPS for label generation at competitive rates - no post office trip required.
- Sellers pack and ship
- USPS labels generated inside RKN
- Discounted commercial rates
Generating a USPS label
After a sale, open the order from your seller dashboard and click 'Generate label'. Confirm weight and dimensions, and the label downloads as a PDF.
- Click 'Generate label' on the order
- Confirm weight and dimensions
- Print PDF, drop off at any USPS location
Packaging best practices
Pack like the part is going to be thrown around - because it will. Take a photo of the packed item before sealing the box; it's useful evidence if a damage claim is filed.
- Engines & large parts: double-box with foam padding
- Tires & wheels: ship in original boxes when possible
- Electronics: anti-static bag, then padded mailer, then box
- Mark fragile items 'FRAGILE' on every face
Adding tracking
Tracking is automatic with every USPS label generated through RKN. The buyer sees the tracking number on their order page and gets automated email updates at each scan.
- Tracking included on every label
- Buyer notified at every scan event
- Visible in seller dashboard too
Lost or damaged in transit
If a package is lost or arrives damaged, the buyer should open a dispute through RKN within 48 hours of (expected) delivery. RKN reviews tracking, photos, and packaging evidence.
- 48-hour dispute window from delivery
- USPS insurance available at label generation
- Insurance recommended for parts over $200
International shipping
RKN currently supports domestic US shipping only. International support is on the roadmap.
- US domestic only for now
- International on the roadmap
